Pre-Development Coaching Program

ABOUT THE
PRE-DEVELOPMENT COACHING PROGRAM

The Pre-Development Coaching (PDC) program is a structured, hands-on, in-person pre-development course for those who have completed the CBREDT 101 online course or graduated from the CBREDT program. PDC participants will engage in applied learning workshops on topics such as: developing a pro forma; assembling a team; architecture; permits and entitlements; construction; and layering grants and financial assistance.

Eligibility

Individuals who own a property on Buffalo, New York’s East Side with appropriate commercial or mixed-use zoning and who either received a completion certificate from the CBREDT 101 online course or graduated from a CBREDT class from 2020 to 2023 are eligible to apply for the PDC. PDC participants who completed the CBREDT 101 online course will be required to pay a one-time, nonrefundable $50 program administration fee prior to the start of the program.

Applications and Timing

Each year, five to ten CBREDT program graduates will be chosen to participate in the PDC. Applications for the fall 2024 cohort are now closed. Check back in mid-2025 for information on the 2025 program.

Potential Funding

Participants who participate in the PDC may be eligible for funding from Empire State Development. Details will be provided to PDC participants by the CBREDT team.
